Dorothy Maryann (Knoll) Deaven

Dorothy M. (Knoll) Deaven, born March 25, 1928, died December 18, 2012 at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
She was the widow of Eugene Deaven who died May 31, 1990 and the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Sinkovitch) Knoll. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters Catherine Knoll Payne and Anne Knoll Payne.
After graduating from Catholic High School, Harrisburg, Dorothy was employed by the Department of Labor and Industry and later retired as the Administrative Assistant for the Keystone Area Local, APWU. She was a member of the former St Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Harrisburg and enjoyed gardening, reading, sticker collecting, baking cookies, word puzzles, solitaire, writing poetry, animals (especially cats), feeding the birds and drawing.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Donna J. Deaven of Mechanicsburg; her brother William J. Knoll of East Pennsboro Twp.; her sister-in-law Beverly Deaven Woodell of Clearfield; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, December 21, 2012 in Parthemore Funeral Home Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Viewing will be one hour prior to services Friday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Derry St., Harrisburg.
