Dorothy Jean Previc

Dorothy Jean (Fry) Previc, 73, of Camp Hill, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center, East Pennsboro Twp., surrounded by her family.

She was a graduate of T.C. Williams High School, Alexandria, VA, attended Mary Washington University, Fredericksburg, VA and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Elizabethtown College, Elizabethtown, PA.

Dorothy was a devoted mother and wife, and dedicated herself to raising her family and caring for others. The entirety of her life was filled with medical challenges and physical limitations, but she used her staggering intelligence to battle through rheumatoid arthritis and an autoimmune disease to become an expert on natural healing and nutrition. She also transmuted her pain into compassion, and focused a library of spiritual reading into a meditative perseverance. Her political acumen and moral compass were her husband’s north star in his career, and they were full partners in all he did in the Pennsylvania legislative and electoral arenas. Her family and neighbors also extensively benefited from her ongoing quest to attain better health. While she always seemed to be caring for one elderly neighbor after another, later in life, she graciously took on the role of primary caregiver for more than ten years for her own mother, Jean, and then her mother-in-law, Caroline Previc.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her mother, Jean B. Fry and father, Lloyd H. Fry, both of Lynchburg, VA, and is survived by her loving husband of fifty-two years, Thomas, and her sons, Keith and Chris.

In keeping with Dorothy’s wishes, there will be no public services.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions in Dorothy’s memory to the Center for Economic and Social Justice: www.cesj.org/donate.
