Douglas E. Klucker, 70, of Hummelstown, died Saturday, October 9th at Penn State Hershey Medical Center.
Doug was born June 27, 1951 in Harrisburg to the late James Franklin and Pauline A. Spriggle Klucker. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Larry and James.
Doug was extremely patriotic, and he dearly loved his country. He was a Vietnam Army Veteran who belonged to VFW Post 7415 and American Legion Post 143 in New Cumberland.
Doug was the retired owner of A Comprehensive Insurance Agency in New Cumberland.
Doug loved spending time with family and friends. He measured success by the way he made people feel and was often quoted as saying “Did I make you laugh?”
Doug loved the outdoors; his greatest passions were hunting and fishing. He never felt more at peace than when he was outside in his hunting tent or along a creek. He was a member of Duncannon Sportsmen’s Association.
Doug was an avid golfer. He belonged to Harrisburg Country Club for a number of years and enjoyed playing Valley Green with his sons and friends. He was also an accomplished bowler and softball player.
He is survived by his wife, Lori Ann Sechrist Klucker; sons, Douglas J. and his wife Amy of Harrisburg and Michael G. of Fairfax, VA; a daughter, Jessica L. Pizzuro of New Cumberland, WV; and sister, Judy L. Johnson and her husband Bob of Perdix.
Visitation will be Friday, October 15th at the Parthemore Funeral Home in New Cumberland from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.
Following CDC guidelines to protect children and the vulnerable, masks are required in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Disabled American Veterans (www.dav.org or call 717-761-4060) in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.
