Douglas L. Burks

Douglas L. Burks, 78, of New Cumberland, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018 in Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.

He was a former police officer with the boroughs of New Cumberland and Lemoyne before retiring as a security officer with Norfolk-Southern Railroad, Enola. Additionally, Douglas was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

He was born in Austin, TX to the late Virgil and Ann (Harman) Burks and is survived by his wife of more than 54 years, Grace Ann (Musser) Burks; children, Jeffrey A. Burks of York and Kimberly L. Petroff of Camp Hill; and two grandchildren, Tyler Petroff and Riley Petroff.

In keeping with Douglas’ wishes, there will be no services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Douglas’ memory may be made to any charity of the donor’s choice.
