Edmond F. Shedlosky, 93, of Camp Hill, died at home, surrounded by his family Tuesday, November 26, 2013. Edmond (Pop) was born in Nanticoke, Luzerne County, the youngest of six children of the late Peter and Julia Szydlowski. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Eleanor Stusnick. He is survived by a sister, Clara Sarday, 95, of Johnson City, NY; his children and their spouses, Mark E. Shedlosky of Shiremanstown, Michael F. Shedlosky D.M.D. of Austin, TX, and Julie R. Shedlosky D.M.D. of Camp Hill; and nine grandchildren.
Edmond graduated from Tulsa University where he played in the Sugar Bowl, the Orange Bowl, and the Cotton Bowl, and was voted an All-American in 1945. He played one year of professional football for the New York Giants. He left to attend the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, from which he graduated in 1950. Practicing dentistry locally for 42 years, he retired in 1993 to pursue his passions for his family, gardening, and golfing.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated December 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Camp Hill, PA. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral mass. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania or the Church of the Good Shepherd.
