Edward J. Zeisloft

Edward J. Zeisloft, 81, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Hazleton, PA and Big Stone Gap, VA, died Tuesday, December 3, 2013 in Harrisburg Hospital.
He was a retired Systems Analyst Supervisor for the former Navy Ships Parts Control Center, Hampden Twp. and an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mechanicsburg since 1960. He sang in the church choir, and served as past president of the church council. Ed was a 1950 graduate of Hazleton High School and a 1959 graduate of the Pennsylvania State University; a member of S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A.; a former tram driver for Hershey Park where he worked with his wife for over 20 years. Ed also served as Chairman of the Mechanicsburg Area Council of Churches Bicentennial Worship Service Committee for the 1976 Bicentennial Worship Service in Mechanicsburg. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, and most of all, spending time with his family.
Ed was born in Hazleton on May 1, 1932 to the late Oliver Samuel and Ruth Evelyn (Smith) Zeisloft. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years Shirley M. (Fisher) Zeisloft and his daughter Linda Z. Parthemore.
He is survived by his son William E. Zeisloft and wife Sandy of Mechanicsburg; son in law Jeff Parthemore of Mechanicsburg; brother O. Samuel Zeisloft of Erie; sister Ruth Louise Zeisloft of Hendersonville, NC; granddaughter Laura A. Zeisloft; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 7, 2013 in his church with the Rev. Randall J. Marburger, his pastor officiating. Viewing will be from 4-7 pm Friday in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Burial will follow services on Saturday in Mechanicsburg Cemetery, Marble St., Mechanicsburg.
