Edythe M. Gassert, 88, of The Woods at Cedar Run, Camp Hill, formerly of New Cumberland died Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Select Specialty Hospital, Camp Hill.
She was a retired Surgical Nurse having worked for David A. Johnston, M.D. in Harrisburg. She was a member of Second United Church of Christ, Harrisburg; VFW Post 7415 Ladies Auxiliary, and American Legion Post 143 Ladies Auxiliary both of New Cumberland; Multiple Sclerosis Society, Harrisburg Chapter. She was twice Past Auxiliary President of Post 7415, District 18 President; and President of Department of Pennsylvania Ladies Auxiliary from 1984 to 1985.
She was born February 13, 1925 in New Cumberland to the late Ebbert Martin and Anna Rita (Nickle) Paxton. She was the widow of Thomas W. Gassert.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at 10am followed by a memorial service at 11am Wednesday. Interment will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
