Elaine G. (Galinas) Encimer, 78, formerly of Hazleton, died October 19, 2018, at Messiah Lifeways, Mechanicsburg. She was born in Shenandoah on January 18, 1940.
Elaine graduated from Hazleton High School in 1957. She worked in Harrisburg as a long-distance telephone operator and as a switch board operator at the Capital, with Bell Telephone. In 1960, she married James Encimer and had two children, Karen Elaine Friese (husband, Stephen Friese), of Harrisburg, and James Michael Encimer, of New York City, NY. She retired from K-Mart and also worked part-time at Boscov’s Department Store, Harrisburg. She enjoyed being a Girl Scout leader in Marysville, and in her free time she loved to dance, cook and decorate her home.
In addition to her children, she is survived by her two grandchildren, Clay Friese (fiancé, Patricia Santoro) and Allison Friese (fiancé, Tyler Minnich); and one great granddaughter, Olivia Elaine Minnich. Her husband, Jim, died in 1996 after 36 years of marriage. In 2007, Elaine married Bill Kremkau; he passed in 2014.
A graveside service will be held at 10AM on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg.
