Elizabeth “Liz” Ann (McRedmond) Krempasky, 72, of Carlisle, and formerly of New Cumberland, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2019 peacefully in her sleep at her home.
She was a retired registered nurse and a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland.
At Seton Hill College in Pennsylvania she studied classical languages. Soon after leaving Seton Hill, Liz found her passion for nursing and completed her nursing degree. She practiced nursing in many settings for over 40 years, specializing in long term rehabilitation. All three children attended St. Theresa’s Catholic School and for many years, the parish was at the center of Liz’s life. She created a lay ministry called “The Caring Community” through which nurses offered health screening at masses. She also opened and directed the St. Theresa’s Summer Day Camp that offered affordable summer care that was accessible to all children. Elizabeth believed strongly in practicing her faith through action and felt strongly about caring for anyone in need. Another of her great passions was the study of her families’ genealogy. She spent countless hours researching our family history back hundreds of years and passing down the stories of their lives. She created a book that chronicles the stories of our ancestors.
She is survived by her children, Susanna Krempasky Jalkut, M.D. and husband Stephen of Fairfield, CT, Michael John Krempasky and wife Monica of Falls Church, VA and Sara Krempasky Woll and husband Brandon of Ft. Collins, CO; brothers and sister, John McRedmond of Indian Land, SC, Thomas McRedmond of Chapin, SC, Kevin McRedmond, M.D. of Chapin, SC and Kathleen McRedmond Fisher of Hyde Park, NY; and six grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 am on Saturday, October 12, 2019 in St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1300 Bridge St. New Cumberland, PA with the Rev. Samuel Dubois as Celebrant. Visitation with the family will be held from 10 – 11 am Saturday, October 12th in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland.
