Elizabeth (Betty) Bulota, 90, formerly of Camp Hill passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2014 in her residence at Bethany Village, Mechanicsburg, PA.
Born on October 21, 1923 in Elkins, West Virginia to Elizabeth and W.E. Hedges, Betty graduated from G W High School in Alexandria, VA, attended Madison College in VA, and earned a BS in Retail Management from Drexel University.
Betty’s early career was in fashion merchandising for Woodard & Lothrop and Julius Garfinkles in Washington, DC. She taught elementary school for over 20 years, including at the Harrisburg Academy and for The West Shore School District. She also worked in real estate and volunteered at Holy Spirit Hospital.
Betty was a regular at the symphony, attended music programs and theatre made available to Bethany residents and loved to play bridge. Her family will remember her for her kindness, sense of humor, lively personality, distinctive flair and love.
She was predeceased by husbands Donn Walden (1965) and Stan Bulota (2005), and her sister Margaret Hedges (2008).
She is survived by her children Gail Coleman and husband Will of Mechanicsburg, Stephen Walden and wife Kris of Slatington, PA and Mark Walden and wife Brenda of Batavia, IL, and step-son Dr. William Bulota and wife Zenaida of Stephenson, WA.
Betty is also survived by her grandchildren Kate Randall and her husband Rob of Ft Lauderdale, FL, Courtney Walden of Hollywood, CA, Marybeth and Stanley Walden of Batavia, IL, Lara Bulota of Issaquah, WA, and Raina Wheeler and her husband Ben of Bodega Bay, CA,
There will be a memorial service at 11 am on Friday, July 11, 2014 in the Community Room at Bethany Village. A visitation with family and reception will immediately follow the service.
Private interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of her family.
