Elizabeth M. Smee

Elizabeth M. Smee, 96 of New Cumberland died Sunday, March 28, 2021 at Thornwald Home, Carlisle.

She was a member of Community United Methodist Church, New Cumberland for over 75 years. There she was assistant to the Pastor for several years, a Stephen Minister, Lay Speaker, and active in other roles within the church. She assisted her family with Smee and Sons Bowling, Billiards, and Swimming Pool Supply and Service and was a Den mother when her boys were in boy scouts. She loved her family, cooking, Scrabble, and Pinochle.

She was born November 22, 1924 in Lemoyne to the late John M. and Elizabeth M. (Faust) Bivens. She was the widow of Stanley F. Smee, Jr. and also preceded in death by her sons, Ronald and William; siblings, Howard Bivens, Clarence Bivens, Joseph Bivens, Helen Frame, and Mable Hankey.

She is survived by her son, Robert S. Smee (Cindy) of New Cumberland; her daughter, Elizabeth Jane Cleland (John) of Etters; siblings, Robert L. Bivens (Anne) of Felton, Jean L. Basehore (Don) of Mechanicsburg, sister-in-law, Pat Bivens; grandchildren, Kathryn Woodlee, Thomas Smee, Jennifer Dougher, Joshua Cleland, and Ryan Cleland; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be from 10am until funeral services at 11am Thursday at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland. Burial will follow in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill.
