Ella Mae Janney, 96, of Harrisburg, formerly of Dillsburg, passed away Friday, May 12, 2023, at Colonial Park Care Center, Lower Paxton Twp.
She retired as a Custodian for the Northern School District, Dillsburg; a former member of American Legion Post 26, Dillsburg; enjoyed crocheting and was an avid BINGO player and also enjoyed traveling out of the area to play BINGO.

She was the best cooker of hamburgers and fresh cut fries, a hard worker who never complained, and the best company for her sweet “Patootie”. She lived for her boys and her grandchildren. Family was EVERYTHING to her and she’ll be greatly missed by all.
Born on April 30, 1927, in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Mable O. (Miller) Norman. She was the widow of Paul H. Janney, Sr. and was preceded in death by her sons, Paul H., Jr. and David E., and brothers, Leroy Scheaffer, Barney Norman, and Jim Norman.
Surviving are a son, Richard N. Janney and wife Jill of Dillsburg; a daughter-in-law, Edie E. Janney of Hummelstown; ten grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 21 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Clara Crousore of New Bloomfield; many nieces and nephews.
