Elmer C. Weir

Elmer C. Weir, 83, of Lower Allen Twp., PA died Tuesday, January 22, 2013 in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
He was a retired Sales Associate for the former Lenkerbrook Farms Dairy and later was a contractor with Michael Martin Builders. He was born in Mammoth, PA to the late Paul and Marie (Flowers) Weir; was an Army veteran; was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland and the Lower Allen VFW Post 7530. Elmer loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed throwing his annual Crab Feast party for everyone to enjoy, gardening and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Elmer was preceded in death by his loving wife of more than 52 years, Loretta Pat (Mellon) Weir; a daughter Melissa A. Weir; a grandson Daniel Wheatley; and three brothers, Frank, Raymond, and Tom Weir.
He is survived by five daughters, Marion M. Filson of Lewisberry, Margaret R. Fulton of New Cumberland, Marie P. Metzger of Etters, Marilyn L. Wheatley of Camp Hill and Patricia A. Danner of Etters; four sisters, Rose Marie Domansky, Alice Kapura, Mary Lou Zimmerman and Rebecca Hibbs; two brothers, Paul and Jim Weir; seven grandsons, three granddaughters, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1pm on Saturday, January 26, 2013 in St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church, 1300 Bridge St. New Cumberland, PA 17070. Viewing will be from 11:30am-12:30pm Saturday in Parthemore Funeral Home Cremation Services, 1303 Bridge St. New Cumberland. Burial with military honors will be in Emanuel Cemetery, Lewisberry.
