Emma Brier, 104, of Essex House, Lemoyne, formerly of New York City, died Sunday, March 5, 2017 at her apartment.
Before retirement, she had worked alongside of her husband in linen supply in Long Island. She loved art, music, and was a great believer in humanitarian causes and the equality of man. She was a founding member of Women Strike for Peace, she spent her whole life fighting for causes. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and lived the last five years peacefully in Central Pennsylvania.
She was born January 11, 1913 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Samuel and Mollie Markowitz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Louis Brier, son, William Paul Brier, and brother, George Martin.
She is survived by a son, Peter M. Brier, M.D. of Camp Hill; grandson, Joseph P. Brier (Kayte) of Holden, MA; and grandsons, Tate and Charles Brier.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
