Evelyn Kay Eaton Butler

Evelyn Kay Eaton Butler, 71, of Harrisburg went to her eternal reward on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at home.
Born May 17, 1944 in Olean, NY, she was the youngest daughter of the late Murl F. and Mary Crowley Eaton and she was proud of her Irish Catholic heritage.
She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Tom and their two sons, Tim and Brian and two precious granddaughters, Hannah and Rachel; two sisters, Marilyn Allen (Robert) and Carol Farr (Roy); ten nephews and nieces; several grand nieces and nephews; an aunt, and many cousins.
Mrs. Butler was a 1962 graduate of Cowanesque Valley High School in Westfield, PA and graduated from Mansfield University in 1966 where she was a member of Alfa Sigma Phi, Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities, and Homecoming Queen. She received a Master of Education from Penn State University. Teaching children was her joy, love, and life work. She retired from the Central Dauphin School System in 2000 teaching at North Side Elementary. Mrs. Butler also had taught in the St. Theresa and St. Catherine Laboure Schools.
Mrs. Butler was an active member of St. Theresa Parish in New Cumberland for over 40 years. She served as a lector, choir member, leader of a Renew group and was a CCD teacher for over 25 years. She also coordinated the RCIA program for several years and served on the evangelical committee as well as the caring community.
Evelyn devoted her life to her loving family, her students, and friends. Everyone will remember her sunny smile, quick laugh, bubbly personality, and love of all children.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7pm Monday at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Tuesday at St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland. Private inurnment will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp.
