Francis J. Snyder, 83, of New Cumberland, died Monday, July 7, 2014, at home.
He retired from the New Cumberland Post Office as a Letter Carrier; a member of the National Assn. of Letter Carriers, Local Chapter #500; a Navy veteran of the Korean War; a member of Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church, New Cumberland; a life member of V.F.W. Post 7415, New Cumberland. Born on May 1st, 1931, in Shamokin, he was the son of the late Harry J. and Esther (Engle) Snyder. He was the widower of Shirley J. (Kohler) Snyder.
Surviving are three sons, David J. of York, Mark A. (Carla) of Dillsburg, Daniel R. (Kelly) of Dillsburg; a daughter, Kathy L. Young (George) of Lemoyne; two brothers, Harry J. Jr. of Fort Pierce, FL, and Edward P. of Woodlyn; two sisters, Ruth Cleaver of Kulpmont, and Marie Behehr of CO; seven grandchildren, Phillip, Stephen, Kyle, Danielle and Parker Snyder and Justin and Janelle Young; a great granddaughter, Caitlyn Snyder; a great grandson, Carson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland, with the Rev. Carl Ford Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services in the funeral home.
