Francis John Moran, Jr. peacefully passed away Wednesday evening, January 11, 2017. His family surrounded him.
He was the widower of Rosalie (Young) Moran and is survived by his children, Elizabeth Dailey and husband John of New Cumberland, Christine Miller and husband Dennis of Pacific Palisades, CA and Francis Moran, III of Glenside, PA; and seven grandchildren, Julia, John and Clare Dailey, Georgia and Nolan Miller, and Ava and Ronan Moran. Frank was born in Olney, PA to the late Francis John and Elizabeth (Ellsworth) Moran.
Frank led a long, full life. He enjoyed the beach, music, collecting coins, jewelry and antiques. Frank loved food, he did not meet an olive he did not like and he was well known for making delicious toast. His great joys were his children, grandchildren, Christmas, jokes, shopping at estate sales, bakeries, and candy stores. Frank’s huge heart and generous spirit ensured giving his family the perfect thing.
Frank lived at Country Meadows, Mechanicsburg, PA. He loved his home there. He made good friends with the residents and caretakers. The Country Meadows and Celtic Hospice staff are endowed with a special warmth, and are truly angels on Earth.
Frank was a Forward Observer in the artillery branch of the US Army stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He was especially proud of the time he served his country.
Frank will be dearly missed, but equally dearly welcomed by family, friends, and beloved dogs. Frank’s last words were “I have a wonderful family” and “I love you” which perfectly sums it up. Godspeed, Dear Dad.
