Emblem

Frank Carl Barrette, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on March 3, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on April 13, 1949, in Harrisburg, PA to the late Francis and Irene (Pace) Barrette, Frank lived a life full of achievements, love, and laughter.

A proud graduate of Red Land High School in 1968, Frank was an exceptional athlete who excelled in track, cross country, and basketball, contributing to the 1967 Central Penn Cross Country League Championship. Following high school, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy for two years, embodying the spirit of dedication and commitment that would define his life.

For 37 years, Frank worked as a technician in the communications industry with Bell and later Verizon, where he was highly regarded for his expertise and work ethic. His passion for service extended beyond his professional life; he was a devoted handyman for elderly women in his community, family, and friends. He was always eager to lend a helping hand and share his skills.

Frank will be remembered for his love of family, golf, and woodworking. He cherished making Sunday morning pancakes for his loved ones and spending quality time with his family. As an enthusiastic traveler, he looked forward to winters spent in Punta Gorda, Florida with his sister and St. Simons Island, Georgia with his brother.

He is survived by his loving spouse of 55 years, Cherryl (Snell) Barrette; daughter, Melissa (Keith) McCracken; grandchildren, Delaney (Nathan) Huggins and Riley McCracken; great grandchildren, Mason and Melanie Huggins; brother, William Bowring; sisters, Eileen (John) Benyou, Frances (Joe) Ruth, and Michele (Daniel) Alderman; and a host of family and friends, all of whom will dearly miss his warm spirit and infectious sense of humor.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 10 AM to 11 AM at Parthemore Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow immediately after. Burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association in Frank's name.
