Gary A. Hitz, 74, of New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, passed away on June 11, 2024 at home. He was born February 15, 1950 in York, Pennsylvania to the late Jacob Amos and Mary Louise (Aldinger) Hitz. He proudly served in the United States Air Force before spending his career working as a machine designer for an electronic parts manufacturer where he held several design patents. Gary was a member of Strinestown United Brethren Church where he was a lay minister and taught Sunday School. He coached soccer for more than 20 years and ran the Manchester soccer organization. He loved watching all levels of soccer on TV and in person and was an avid PSU sports fan. He enjoyed woodworking and most of all spending time with his wife, children and especially his grandchildren.

Gary is survived by his wife, Mary Lou "Lucy" (Irvin) Hitz; 3 daughters, Jennifer (Scott) Hitz Dellinger, Anna (Raul) Cortez, and Christina (Richard) Fuller; 4 sons, Steven (Tanya) Hitz, Joseph (Melinda) Hitz, Robert (Leigh) Cortez and Jesiah (Katrina) Hitz; 19 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; 3 sisters, Helen Tallone, Barb Anderson, and Bea Nusbaum; and 2 brothers, Stan and Tommy Hitz. 

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 18 from 11AM - 12PM at New Cumberland Alliance Church with a Memorial Service at 12PM. Burial will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery following the service at 2:30PM, Pastor Jordan Irvin will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are respectfully requested to Residential Hospice.
