Gene P. Andrick

Gene P. Andrick, 90, formerly of New Cumberland, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, in Messiah Lifeways, Mechanicsburg.

She was a member of Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church, New Cumberland, The Women’s Club of New Cumberland and Highland and the New Cumberland Army Depot Woman’s Club.

Gene was born in Norfolk, VA, the daughter of the late Edward and Bessie (Claudie) Payne and was a graduate of Madison College (now James Madison University), Harrisonburg, VA where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She taught first grade at Belmont School in Roanoke, VA from 1954-1960. After moving to New Cumberland, Gene taught as a substitute teacher in the West Shore School District.

She was the widow of James L. Andrick and is survived by her children: son, David W. Andrick and wife Penny of Mt. Joy, PA. Daughter Lisa C. Markel and husband Keith of Camp Hill; and four loved grandchildren, Benjamin, Grant, Sarah, and Allison.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, June 18, 2022, in Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church, 228 Bridge St. New Cumberland, PA with the Rev. Jean Felty officiating. Viewing will be one hour prior to services in the church. Burial will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp.
