Genevieve Mae Bowen

Genevieve Mae (McCauslin) Bowen, 87, of Fairview Twp., passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023 in her residence surrounded by members of her loving family.

She was a former teacher’s aide with the Church of the Nazarene Pre School, New Cumberland, attended Christian Life Assembly, Camp Hill and attended Mechanicsburg High School. Genevieve enjoyed ceramics, sewing, taking walks, gardening, playing board games, and camping. She and her husband loved to travel and visited 49 of the 50 United States. They also enjoyed cruises to Alaska, the Caribbean, Panama Canal, and South America. More than anything, though, she loved spending time with her family. They were the center of her universe.

Genevieve was born in Mechanicsburg, the daughter of the late Ergie and Margaret (Vogelsong) McCauslin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her husband of more than 70 years, Gordon “Skip” Bowen; children, Gordon “Skip”, Jr. and wife Wanda of York Haven, Doreen Klingler and husband John of Mechanicsburg, Darlis Mateer and husband George of New Cumberland, Dennis Bowen and wife Marie of New Cumberland and Diane Reitz and husband Tim of Camp Hill; her sisters, Darlene Morrison of Enola and Sharon Stoak of Elizabethtown; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to service time in the funeral home. Burial will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp.
