George K. Mowery

George K. Mowery, 74, of New Cumberland, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Penn State Holy Spirit Medical Center, Camp Hill. He was the son of the late George and Priscilla (Mast) Mowery, born on February 19, 1950, in Lancaster.

George was a 1969 graduate of John Harris High School, Harrisburg, and would go on to serve his country in the U.S. Army. After his service, he would find employment at the former New Cumberland Army Depot and Square D (Schneider Electric), Mechanicsburg.

George and his wife, Barbara, were longtime members of Fairview Bethel Church of God, where he enjoyed teaching Sunday School. He was a recognized supporter of the Central PA Blood Bank. Mowing the lawn and manicuring his property brought him peace, and family gathered to listen to him play the organ on special occasions. George was a steadfast husband and father and always provided for his family. He was reserved and found joy being with his family whether it was on beach vacations or simply sitting around the dinner table. 

Surviving George is his wife of 55 years, Barbara (Feeser) Mowery; his sons, Scott Mowery and wife, Monica of Baldwin, MD, and Bryan Mowery of New Cumberland; grandchildren, Logan and Kenley; sisters, Brenda Pipp and Barbara DeRoss; and a brother, Lowell Mowery.

A committal service will be held at 9:30AM on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Later that day, a visitation will take place from 11AM until a memorial service begins at 11:30AM at Fairview Bethel Church of God, New Cumberland.
