George W. Carpenter

George W. Carpenter, 81, of Mechanicsburg and formerly of New Cumberland, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021 in his residence.

He was retired from Pittsburgh Plate Glass Industries, Mt. Holly, PA plant and a graduate of John Harris High School, Harrisburg. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Mechanicsburg and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

George was born in Shamokin, PA, the son of the late Marlin and Betty (Bradigan) Carpenter, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was the widower of Elsie (Intrieri) Carpenter and was preceded in death by a sister Verna.

He is survived by his son G. Michael Carpenter (Lynn) of Mechanicsburg; two grandchildren, Chelsea Carpenter and Brooke Blas (Nick); and siblings, Marlin, Jr., Richard, Wally and Betty.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Friday December 3, 2021 in his church, 310 Hertzler Rd. Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. Viewing will be one hour prior to Mass time in the church. Burial will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp.
