Gilbert B. Spatz

Gilbert B. Spatz, 60, formerly of New Cumberland, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2016 in his residence in Farmers Branch, TX from complications following a recent surgery.

He was a control analyst and auditor with FedEx Office, Dallas and Houston, TX locations; a graduate of both Cedar Cliff High School, Camp Hill and the Pennsylvania State University, State College, PA; a member of the PSU Alumni Association; and was an avid PSU athletics fan. He enjoyed traveling and customizing frames for artwork, for his collection and for family.

Gil was born in Harrisburg to Beverly (Beckley) Spatz of Farmers Branch, TX (formerly of New Cumberland) and the late Neal Joseph Spatz.
In addition to his mother, Gil is survived by his three sisters, Cynthia M. Cantwell and husband Kenneth of Collegeville, PA, Sheri L. Ash and husband Wesley of Mechanicsburg, PA and Laurie D. Roca of Miami Gardens, FL; nephews, Josh, Alex and Kevin and nieces, Noelle, TerriLynn and Rebecca; also, many great nephews and nieces.

Gil will be missed by many due to his zest for life and for touching so many people with his genuine kindness and his iconic laughter.

A memorial service to celebrate Gil’s life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 1, 2017 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland, PA. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to service time in the funeral home.
