Gregg A. Rice of New Cumberland passed on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at age 75 at Penn State Health Holy Spirit Hospital Cardiovascular ICU.
He was a son of the late Eugene C. and Gloria C. Rice. He leaves his best friend and devoted wife of 43 years, Nancy P. Rice. He is also survived by brothers Ronald (Claire), Steven (Debbie) and Jeffrey (Marilyn), daughter Kristen Hughes (Clay), son Zachary Rice (Eva), six grandchildren, a niece and four nephews and brother- and sister-in-law Thomas and Cherry Pyron.
After college graduation, he enlisted in the Army and served with its Headquarters Company at the Pentagon, then in the active Reserves with the 80th Division.
Gregg took several graduate courses in education, and worked in media (WFMV-FM, WRFK-FM; co-founder of the Richmond Public Schools production studio), commercial and museum exhibits, and communications infrastructure (the Keystone Building, Health South sites up and down the East coast, the PA CyberStart program).
Nancy and Gregg retired early and continued to enjoy travel, home projects (Gregg hardly ever met a project he did not like), gardening, their pets, music and book collecting and seeing old friends.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. Interment is at the mausoleum, Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
