Harry L. Grossman

Harry L. Grossman, aged 83, entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 26, 2024, at the Carlisle Skilled Nursing Center surrounded by his family.

Born on June 14, 1940, in Harrisburg to Merlin and Pauline (Busser) Grossman, Harry was a graduate of New Cumberland High School, class of 1958. Throughout his life, he embodied the spirit of entrepreneurship, founding various successful ventures including house moving, transportation/haulage, builder and developer, and real estate investment.

Harry's interests were as diverse as his pursuits. In his youth he had a passion for anything fast including auto racing, boating, and piloting / aviation. However, cheering on Penn State Football and tailgating was a constant throughout his life. He enjoyed serving as a dedicated Trustee for Calvary United Methodist Church in Lemoyne, where he was a cherished member until its closure.

Alongside his professional achievements and hobbies, Harry cherished his family. He shared 51 loving years of marriage with his wife, Suzy A. (Steward) Grossman. Together, they raised two sons, Derrick (Michele) of New Cumberland and Randall (Kristin) of Marina Del Rey, CA. Harry is also survived by his siblings, Carol Shipley of Alabama, Andrea Ensminger of Dover, Deanna Sheaffer of Dover, Richard Grossman of New Mexico, and Christopher Grossman of York, as well as his beloved grandchildren, Dylan and Abby Grossman.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during visitation hours from 2:00 PM until the memorial service at 3:00 PM, Sunday May 5th at Mt Olivet United Methodist Church, 5000 Simpson Ferry Rd, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Heartland Hospice of Carlisle in honor of Harry, 1200 Walnut Bottom Rd Suite 302, Carlisle, PA 17015
