Helene Bengel

Helene Bengel, 70, daughter of Peter and Genevieve Hlushak of New Cumberland (both deceased), passed away on November 14, 2019 at UPMC Pinnacle Community Osteopathic Hospital.

She was a graduate of Trinity High School and retired from Highmark. She was kind to everyone she met, and those around her enjoyed being in her company. If she wasn't spending time with those she loved, Helene took pleasure in planting flowers and gardening at her home.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Robert Bengel; son, Jason Bengel (Amanda); four grandchildren, Graham, Reid, Alexander, and Sienna; three siblings, Joan Motter (Paul), Peter Hlushak (Jane), and Thomas Hlushak (Chris); and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at noon on Thursday, November 21, at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland. A visitation will take place one-hour prior in the funeral home. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Mechanicsburg, will immediately follow.
