Herbert Hale Snyder, 89, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of New Cumberland, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018 in Holy Spirit Geisinger Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
He was a retired structural engineer with Modjeski & Masters, Harrisburg office; a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War; a member of Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church, New Cumberland; and a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, Main Campus. Herb was extremely handy and could fix or build almost anything. He built the family’s split-level cabin with help from his friends and crafted several pieces of furniture. He was very social and loved to interact with people.
Herb was born in New Cumberland to the late Howard and Luetta (Hale) Snyder.
He is survived by his loving wife of more than 63 years Natalie H. (Fasick) Snyder; children, Jeffrey W. Snyder of Enola and Jessica R. Schuller and husband Ernst of Mechanicsburg; and three grandchildren, Cory, Derek and Amanda Snyder.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, August 18, 2018 in the Richard D. Rife Center of Bethany Village, 325 Wesley Dr. Mechanicsburg with the Rev. Dr. Brand W. Eaton and the Rev. Dr. Edwin Green as co-officiants. Viewing will be from 5 – 7 pm Friday, in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Fairview Twp.
