Herbert (Herb) Leroy Shaull, III, 65, of Rye Twp., Marysville passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018 in Stonebridge Health & Rehabilitation Center, Duncannon.
He was a retired Public Works carpenter with the Mechanicsburg Naval Support Activity Center, Hampden Twp.
Herb, along with his father formed and partnered the Herb Shaull and Son Remodeling and Construction business. They worked side by side each day for many years until the passing of his father, and he continued the business for another 20 years. They used their love of woodworking, skills and talents to improve the lives of their family, friends and customers building their new homes, cabinets, furniture and many special projects.
They were instrumental in the remodel and new addition construction project of the West Fairview American Legion Post 984 where Herb was a life member and also a member of their horseshoe throwing league.
He was a member of the Historical Society of East Pennsboro Twp, where his talented woodworking craftsmanship was used to help build the Nail Mill Museum in Enola's Adams-Ricci Park.
He was also a member of the West Fairview School Association and served on the advisory committee for the CPVT School Carpentry Education program.
Herb was born in Harrisburg to the late Herbert and Doris (Baker) Shaull, Jr. of West Fairview. He is survived by his loving wife of more than 45 years, Catherine (Humbert) Shaull; son Adam Shaull and wife Miranda of Newport; grandchildren, Addison Coffey, Tristan Shaull and Lillian Shaull: sister Louise (Shaull) Murphy and husband Edward of Grantville; and a nephew Joshua Murphy of Phoenixville.
Working in his woodworking shop on special projects was Herb's passion, along with spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed the time spent at their hunting camp; hunting, snowmobiling, ATC riding, and attending and watching sports and auto racing events.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Friday, 11 Jan 2019 at the Camp Hill United Methodist Church, 417 S 22nd St, Camp Hill, PA 17011. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
