Herman E. E. Zeiders

June 24, 1942 — March 10, 2025

Camp Hill, PA

Herman Edward Earl Zeiders, 82, of Camp Hill, PA, passed away at home with his family by his side on Monday, March 10, 2025. He was the son of the late Herman Edward and Alice Mae (Holtzman) Zeiders, born on June 24, 1942, in Harrisburg.

A 1960 graduate of John Harris High School, Harrisburg, he would go on to serve his country in the U.S. Marines. He married his sweetheart, Martha, in 1965, and the two started a family together. Herm, or “Hoss,” as he was known to his coworkers, spent his entire working career as an electrical engineer with the former Bethlehem Steel, Steelton, where his time was mostly spent maintaining the location’s crane systems. He was also a long-standing member of the United Steelworkers Union Local 1688, Steelton.

He cherished his wife and children above all else and found joy in helping neighbors and friends. Tending to his lawn and property brought him peace, and he took pride in braving the elements with his snowblower, clearing paths up and down the block. Herm was a longtime member of Eberly’s Mill Church of God, Camp Hill, where he proudly served on the church board for six years and sang in the choir. He was also a fan of both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles. An avid hunter and fisherman, he passed these skills to his children, and he enjoyed family trips to several state parks. His great sense of humor made every gathering enjoyable, whether it was playing bridge or poker, shooting pool, dining at local diners, or hosting backyard cookouts and family get-togethers. Herm was handy and constructed custom birdhouses for those closest to him—just one more way he expressed his care and love for others.

Surviving Herman is his wife and best friend of 60 years, Martha Zeiders; children, Lisa Zeiders Wilson (Daniel Colon) of Camp Hill and Herman E. E. Zeiders, Jr. (Aimee) of New Cumberland; grandchildren, Zakary and Zoie Zeiders; a sister, Alice Ebert; brother, Jeff Zeiders; nephews, Anthony and Scott Ringwood; a niece, Bridget Breslin; and brothers-in-law, John Duncan and Jim Duncan (Peggy). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Zeiders.

A public viewing will take place from 6-8PM on Monday, March 17, 2025, at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. A funeral service will be held at 10AM the following morning, Tuesday, March 18, at Eberly’s Mill Church of God, Camp Hill. Burial will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, at 12:30PM.
