Hubert C. Townsend

Hubert C. Townsend, 86, of New Cumberland, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 17, 2016, at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
He retired as a Senior Engineering Technician with UGI and also as a Master Sergeant with the Army National Guard where he received numerous medals. Mr. Townsend was a 1945 graduate of the former John Harris High School, Harrisburg, and was a member of the UG.I. Quarter Century Club. Born in in Harrisburg on September 12, 1930, he was the son of the late Hubert W. and Emma L. (Hutton) Townsend. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lyla Davis and Merle Pollock.
Surviving are his wife, Beverly J. (Ward) Townsend; three daughters, Melanie A. Straub (Ronald) of Camp Hill, Sherry L. Kerstetter of Dillsburg, and Robin B. Townsend of Camp Hill; two stepdaughters, Peggy Lee Bomberger (Wayne) of Mechanicsburg, and Mary C. Lyons (Donald) of Mechanicsburg; a sister, Glenna Turner of Terre Haute, IN; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.
Viewing will be held one hour prior to services in the funeral home.
