I. Joanne Winters, 85, of New Cumberland passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 17, 2015 in Harrisburg Hospital. She was a loving mother and grandmother who was generous to all and an avid baseball fan.
She was born August 16, 1929 in Emeigh, PA, the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Sims.
She was the widow of Charles W. Winters, Jr. and was also preceded in death by her sister Annis Toth.
Surviving are three boys, Barry A. Winters and wife Jane, Brian C. Winters and wife Sandra and Bradley D. Winters and wife Suzanne; her four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, her brother Andrew and her sister Anita.
Retired self-employed beautician, she was a member of Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church, New Cumberland, the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the PA Sports Hall of Fame, the Central PA Food Pantry and the Harrisburg Senators Fan Club.
Her greatest joys in life were her family, her church, Bingo, bus trips and baseball. Oh, how she loved baseball. A season ticket holder of the Harrisburg Senators for decades, former secretary of the Harrisburg Senators Fan Club, she enjoyed the sights, sounds and smells of the ballpark, the interaction with managers and players, and kept a detailed scorebook and record of every game.
