Ian Matthew Mccloskey

February 27, 1983 — March 9, 2015

Ian Matthew McCloskey, 32, of Camp Hill passed away on Monday, March 9th surrounded by his loving family. Born in Harrisburg on February 27, 1983, he was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend. A 2001 graduate of Cedar Cliff High School and a 2006 graduate of HACC with a degree in Automotive Technology, he worked at car dealerships and automotive repair shops in the Harrisburg area. He was also an avid outdoorsman, a skilled marksman and enjoyed hiking, hunting and fishing.
He attended Daybreak Church and had a strong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He selflessly shared God’s love at every opportunity with compassion and acts of kindness. Ian was the truest example of a warrior in the face of great adversity, and we are confident he is healed and celebrating in heaven now.
Ian is survived by his parents, Roy and Karen McCloskey, of Middletown; his sisters, Jessica (Sam) Fisher of Harrisburg; Shannon (Anthony) Scaletti of Virginia Beach; and his brother, Patrick (Jessica) McCloskey of Mount Joy; grandparents, Karl and Helen McCloskey of Muncy; Lois Smith of Millersburg.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Ian enjoyed being a fun-loving uncle to his nephew, Jude Fisher, and niece, Audrey McCloskey, and is also survived by many wonderful friends.
His family wishes to thank all the nurses and medical staff on the 7th floor at Penn State Hershey Medical Center for the excellent care he was given and also to all the people who prayed for him during his illness.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 14th at Christian Life Assembly, 2645 Lisburn Road, Camp Hill at 1:00. Visitation will be held before the service from 11:00 – 1:00 and burial will follow the service in Rolling Green Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial scholarship fund is being established in Ian’s name to provide student scholarships in automotive technology and oncology nursing. Contributions can be made to the Ian M. McCloskey Memorial Fund, 1812 Scarlett Lane Middletown, PA 17057.
