Irene Jeanette (Woomer) Hoover

Irene Jeanette (Woomer) Hoover, 89, of Etters, PA passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016 in her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was a retired Credit Analyst for Sears Credit Central, Colonial Park, Harrisburg, PA and a member of Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church, New Cumberland, Order of Eastern Star Chapter 41, Bedford, PA and the Blue Bird Association.

Irene was born in Tyrone, PA to the late Wilber and Geraldine (Gates) Woomer. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bruce L. Gates and Donald E. Woomer.

She is survived by her husband of more than 68 years, John David Hoover; four sons, Terrin E. Hoover and wife Martha of Bloomsburg, PA, Thomas C. Hoover of Etters, Timothy L. Hoover and wife Margaret “Peg” of Milford, PA and Theodore A. Hoover and wife Deborah of White Marsh, VA; a daughter Joyce Cronin and husband Michael of Milton, DE; two sisters, Shirley Price of Hudson, MA and Joyce Getz of Altoona, PA; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 in Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church, 228 Bridge St. New Cumberland, PA 17070 with the Rev. Dr. Edwin “Win” Green, her pastor officiating. Viewing will be from 4 – 6 pm on Tuesday in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Burial will be in Tri County Memorial Gardens, Newberry Twp.
