Ivan E. Schucker, 87, of New Cumberland, entered into eternal rest Tuesday evening, at Hershey Medical Center, with his wife Bernice (of 65 years) by his side, along with his son, John and daughter, Annie. Ivan was the son of the late Leo and Mary Schucker.
He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church and he retired from the former New Cumberland Army Depot and Classic Drycleaners. He loved dogs; he also loved hunting, fishing and coaching his kids’ baseball teams when they were young. He also enjoyed watching his two youngest sons Golden Glove Box.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Schucker; grandson, Tracy Hipple; and son-in-law, Ted Hipple.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice Schucker; three sons, John Schucker (with whom he resided), Jerry Schucker (Jackie), and Joe Schucker; a daughter, Ann Flury (Fred); a sister, Leah Mae Kaufold (Jim); a brother, Earl Schucker (Dill); two sisters-in-law, Joan Carl and Ann Marie Pautienus; a brother-in-law, Ed Pautienus; granddaughters, Karen Bertolette (Brian), and Jessica Schauer (Jason); grandsons, Thomas Hipple, Colin Schucker, and Cody Schucker; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass in tribute to Ivan’s life will be held at 2PM on Monday, April 23, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. A public viewing will be held from 4-6PM, on Sunday, April 22, at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Cumberland Youth Baseball Association (ncyba.net), PO Box 271, New Cumberland, PA 17070.
