Jack W. Stum

December 15, 1933 — February 18, 2018

Jack Wesley Stum, age 84 of Mechanicsburg, PA and formerly of Carlisle, passed away on February 18, 2018. He was born and raised in Carlisle to the late Wilmer C. & Katherine R. Stum, was a member of the United Methodist Church, and graduated from Carlisle High School class of 1952.

Jack’s survivors include his wife, Yvonne M. (Snyder) Stum “The Love of his life” for 60 years, three fabulous adult children, son, Jeffrey W. Stum of Clearwater, FL., daughter, Tamora M. & husband, Keith Spangler of Mechanicsburg and daughter Vicki L. & husband, Kyle Jetton of Dunedin, FL., granddaughter Vayda K. Jetton “The Second Love of his life” of Dunedin, FL, and brother, David W. Stum of Carlisle.

During his younger years, Jack enjoyed roller skating where he met his future wife, Yvonne. He asked her parents, the late Harold R. & Mildred M. Snyder, for their blessing in marriage, her Dad said “Only if you take good care of our daughter.” Jack & Yvonne were married October 4, 1957 in New Cumberland. Jack also spent 11 years in the PA U.S. Army Guards.
During his life he worked in construction, the PA turnpike and AMP, Inc. of Harrisburg. He worked 37 ½ years with AMP, enjoyed bowling and retired as a test engineer on April 1, 1996.

After retirement, Jack & Yvonne spent 20 years as snowbirds (his dream) in FL. (5 winter months in Clearwater & 7 months in Mechanicsburg) During that time they worked for the Philadelphia Phillies baseball team in Clearwater & Wrights Food in Hershey Park, Jack would always say “Just another day in paradise.” He loved every day of his life & will sadly be missed.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, February 22, 2018 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to services in the funeral home. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, N. Middleton Twp.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
