Jacqueline Rabena Ball, 78, of New Cumberland, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, while at Penn State Holy Spirit Medical Center, Camp Hill. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Florence (Keefer) Rabena, born on May 1, 1946, in Santa Fe, NM.
Jackie was a 1964 graduate of Cedar Cliff High School, Camp Hill, and would go on to obtain her associate degree from HACC in Accounting. As a young professional, she met and eventually married the love of her life, Dave, in 1975. She worked at AMP Inc. for 15 years before stepping away from the corporate world to raise her two boys. After they had grown, she went back to work for Highmark, Camp Hill, where she retired after 20 years in the accounts payable department.
Jackie had a “family first” mentality, but that didn’t stop her from extending her time and talents to others. Growing up in a family with strong Masonic roots, she became a member of the Order of the Eastern Star; she was a 50+ year member and served as Worthy Matron of Capital City Chapter #146 4 times, Palmyra Chapter #402 and Harrisburg Chapter #552, and she happily volunteered for a couple years at the Scottish Rite Cathedral, Harrisburg, where she ran concessions in the main lobby. Over the years, Jackie lent her vocal talents to the Sweet Adelines and the Hershey Community Chorus. She and Dave were longtime members of the Blue Moon Cruisers—one of many ways she was able to give back while showcasing her 1970 medium blue Dodge Coronet 500 convertible. She was quick to lend a hand but just as likely to give you a hug.
Surviving Jackie is her husband and best friend of nearly 50 years, David L. Ball; sons, David Ball of Camp Hill, and Neil Ball of New Cumberland; a brother, Ronald Rabena (Valerie) of Calvin; many cousins and a large extended family.
A public memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland, with visitation taking place from 5:00 PM until services begin in the funeral home. Committal services will be private and held at the convenience of the family in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill.
