James A. Mummert, 81, of Fairview Twp., New Cumberland, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2017 surrounded by family in Pinnacle Health West Shore Hospital, Hampden Twp.
He was a retired pharmacist with Harrisburg Hospital and a member of Christ Presbyterian Church and its Adult Sunday School Class, Allendale, Camp Hill. Jim was a graduate of Dover High School and Temple University School of Pharmacy. He enjoyed traveling and sports and was an accomplished model railroader. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Railroad Technical Historical Society.
Jim was born in Dover, PA to the late William M. and Nettie (Trostle) Mummert.
He was the widower of Janice V. (Cunningham) Mummert and is survived by his children, William A. Mummert and wife Lori of Dover, Glenn M. Mummert of York, Ellen A. Gaona and husband Jose of Fairfield, Michael R. O’Neill and wife Norma of York and Daniel S. O’Neill and wife Kaitlee of Seven Valleys; a brother William T. Mummert and wife Phyllis of York; five grandchildren, Amy, Andrea, Margaret, Kasey and Matthew; and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Monday, February 6, 2017 in Christ Presbyterian Church, 421 Deerfield Rd. Camp Hill, PA 17011 with the Rev. Ellen Crawford True officiating. Viewing will be one hour prior to service time in the church. Burial will directly follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover.
