James Carson Harris, 90, of Bethany Village, Mechanicsburg died Friday, September 11, 2020 at the Village.
He was a retired Fire Fighter from the Detroit MI Fire Department. An Army Veteran of the Korean Era, he was an avid golfer and loved everything golf.
He was born November 4, 1929 in Greenville, TN to the late Robert and Hattie (Keys) Harris. He was the widower of Ruth T. (Tutwiler) Harris.
He is survived by three sons, Steven J. and wife Susie of Plymouth, MN, Stanley P. and wife Pam of Garden City, MI, and Scott E. of Lexington, SC; two step-daughters, Susan P. Whorl and husband Timothy of Dover, PA; Jean P. Stauffer and husband Roger of East Berlin, PA; one step-son, Jeffrey S. Painter and wife Karen of Etters, PA and step daughter-in-law Sabine Painter of Boulder, CO; three granddaughters, Samantha Harris and partner Chris, Marissa Harris, and Kali Harris; two great-grandchildren, Logan Pietila and Stella Pietila; eight step-grandchildren Tommy Frederico, Denise Sheaffer, Kevin Painter, Tyson Painter, Ian Stauffer, Sid Stauffer, JT Painter and Ben Painter; and seven step-greatgrandchildren, Elijah Baker, Tommy Highsby, Laynie Sheaffer, Matthew Sheaffer, Fia Frederico, London Painter, Thomas Stauffer. He was preceded in death by a step-son, Sydney H. Painter
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
