James D. Kauffman

James D. Kauffman, 69, of Etters, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2022 in his residence.

He was a retired Capsule Operator with Appleton Paper, Camp Hill, formerly worked with M & M Mars, and was an avid woodworker for most of his life.

Jim loved being outdoors, he enjoyed nature and all types of animals, especially dogs. He relished his time, as he put it, “shooting the breeze,” with everyone he met. He was affectionately known as, “PopPop to his grandchildren, who he loved spending time with.

Jim was born in Buffalo NY, the son of the late Ellis “Ace” and Doris (Gstalder) Kauffman.

He is survived by his children, Jessica Null and husband William of Lancaster and David H. Kauffman of Etters; siblings, Pete Kauffman of New Cumberland, Bill Kauffman of Seattle, WA, Ann Davis of York, Julie VanDoren of Indiana, PA, Jeanne Irwin of Sharon Springs, NY and Steve Kauffman of Salt Lake City, UT; two grandchildren, Adalynn and Declan Null; and many nieces and nephews.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions in Jim’s memory to either the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Central PA Chapter, 1104 Fernwood Ave. Camp Hill, PA 17011 or to SPCA York 3159 N Susquehanna Trail, York, PA 17406.
