James E. Gordon, Jr.

James E. Gordon, Jr., 70, of Newberry Twp., passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 in Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center, East Pennsboro Twp.

He was the husband of Janette (Dyer) Gordon, his best friend and sparring partner for more than 51 years.

James was born in Harrisburg, the son of James E. and Martha E. (Beck) Gordon, Sr. He was a graduate of Red Land High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the Corps of Army Engineers.

James and his father, James, Sr., were the original owners/operators of Gordon Auto Center, Newberry Twp. and James, Jr. later started his own business, Jim’s Auto and Truck Repair and Towing Service. He later retired from the Navy Ships Parts Control Center, Hampden Twp.
James’ final, selfless act, made a positive difference for many people by donating organs and tissue through the Gift of Life Donor Program, Philadelphia.

In addition to his wife, James is survived by his children, James E. Gordon, III and wife Michele, Stacy E. Gordon and Jennifer R. Fadely and husband Edward; and three grandchildren, Zachary and Briana Fadely and Madeline Gordon who were his pride and joy.

A viewing will be held from 5-7 pm on Monday, November 23, 2020 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland.

A private burial with military honors will be conducted at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, at the convenience of the family.
