James M. Delozier, 73, of Lower Allen Twp., Camp Hill, died Monday, November 9, 2020, at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
Jim was hired with the Pennsylvania Railroad and saw his career span four decades and several different mergers to include the Penn Central Railroad, Conrail and lastly retiring in 2006 as a Signalman/Maintainer with the Norfolk Southern Railroad; Jim was a 1966 graduate of the former William Penn High School, Harrisburg; a member of American Legion Post #1001, Harrisburg; Perry Lodge #458, F. & A.M., Marysville; an avid golfer and played with the Railroad Golf League on Tuesdays in the summer and enjoyed traveling all over the United States with his grandchildren. He was proud to claim he visited every state in the continental United States by car. Jim also liked to travel to Bethany Beach, Delaware where he vacationed frequently and maintained a seasonal home. Additionally, Jim served as a Board member of Cedar Shores, his townhome association for several years.
Jim was born on Tuesday, February 11, 1947, in Altoona, he was the son of the late Jay L. and Audrey M. (Blake) Delozier. He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Earl Bell.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Genevieve A. (Chomicki) Delozier; two sons, Christopher J. and his wife, Sheryl M. of New Cumberland, and Matthew L. of Camp Hill; three grandchildren, Benjamin, Allison and Aidan; a brother, Jay L. Delozier of Lemoyne; a sister, Cathy Dennin of Fairfax, VA; along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 pm on Monday, November 16 at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
