James W. Tharp

James W. Tharp, 70, of Lisburn died Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at home.

A Veteran of the United States Coast Guard Reserve, he was a retired Equipment Operator from Pennsylvania Dept. of Labor and Industry. He enjoyed writing letters for the Opinion section of The Patriot News and painting with watercolors. He had run in the Harrisburg Marathon.
He was born July 10, 1946 in New London, CT to the late Edward R. and June H. (Evans) Tharp.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie F. (Buttorff) Tharp; daughter, Jodi Sheetz of Lancaster County; sister, Carol Shaffer of Chambersburg ; a niece, nephew, and several cousins.

Viewing will be from 5 to 7pm Thursday at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland.

Funeral services will be held at 10am Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Coal Twp.
