Jane F. Cooper

Jane F. Cooper, 77, of Messiah Lifeways, Mechanicsburg and formerly of Philadelphia, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023 in her residence.

She was a retired Nurse Practitioner with Temple University Hospital – Jeanes Campus, Philadelphia where she managed the vascular department.  Jane graduated from Southern Lehigh High School in 1964 and Lankenau Hospital School of Nursing, Philadelphia in 1967.  She served in the Peace Corps in Ethiopia in 1969 and went on to the University of Pennsylvania where she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees along with her certification as a Nurse Practitioner.

Jane was a world traveler, visiting India, China, Egypt and Eastern Europe.  Travel was her passion!

Jane was born April 1, 1946 in Allentown, PA, the daughter of the late Bruce and Grace (Earich) Cooper.  In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her long-time partner, Dr. VS Shankar who passed in 2004.

She is survived by her twin sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Richard Heil of New Cumberland; nieces, Amanda Singer (Paul) and Adrienne Heil; great nephew Tyler Singer and great niece Grace Singer.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.  Burial will be in Pomfret Manor Cemetery, Sunbury, PA.
