Jane Norris Davis, 93, a resident of Messiah Lifeways of Mechanicsburg and formerly of Huntingdon, PA passed away at her home. She was born November 11, 1927 in Juniata Twp., Huntingdon County, the daughter of Samuel L. and Evelyn Mark Norris.
She was united in marriage to Carl A. Davis, October 22, 1955 in the (former) Hawn’s Bridge Community Church, Juniata Township, Huntingdon County, with the Rev Neal Rodgers officiating. Mr. Davis survives at their home.
Also, two sons survive; Mark of Camp Hill and Jeffrey and his wife Lenora of New Cumberland. Two grandchildren also survive, Sean in New Jersey and Emily in Philadelphia. One sister, Dorothy Wible survives in Navarre, Florida. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Fred, Robert, Frank, and Richard (deceased at infancy) and five sisters; Esther, Edith, Lucille, Mary, and Helen. Many nieces and nephews survive too.
Mrs. Davis graduated from Huntingdon High School, class of 1945. She was very active in church activities throughout her life and especially enjoyed Southern Gospel music. She enjoyed her grandchildren so very much! She also enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardening. After her children were grown, she worked at two popular family restaurants as Hostess; six years at the former Perkins Cake and Steak in Smithfield Township and six years in Carlisle at Little John’s Restaurant.
Mrs. Davis requested a private memorial service, later, at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jane’s memory are respectfully requested to the Salvation Army, 506 S. 29th St. Harrisburg, PA 17104.
