Jean (Lewis) Kann, 87, of Brookdale Grandon Farms, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, September 9, 2020. She lived most of her adult life in Camp Hill. She wants to thank all the staff at Brookdale for the excellent service and love she received while a resident at the home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Kann.
She was a graduate and cheerleader of the former New Cumberland High School, Class of 1951. Jean was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Lemoyne, for over 50 years. She taught Sunday School classes and served on ushering and greeting committees.
Jean was employed with the former Bell Telephone Company, Harrisburg, former Bowmans Dept. Store at the West Shore Plaza, and the former Posers Ladies Dress Shop at the Capital City Mall. She was a member of the former Co-ed Club of the YMCA, Harrisburg Area Road Runners’ Club, and an active volunteer with the Harrisburg Mile.
Born on July 9th, 1933, in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Susie (Miller) Lewis.
Jean enjoyed landscaping, gardening and had the certification of the National Wildlife Federation as a “Backyard Wildlife Habitat”. She was also certified with the “Monarch Waystation Program”.
Graveside services will be on Monday at 11am in St. John’s Cemetery, Hampden Twp. with the Rev. Jason Schwartzman, her pastor, officiating.
