Jean M. (Lindie) Johnson

Jean M. (Lindie) Johnson, 92, of Camp Hill, died Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at home. Daughter of the late Raymond and Florence (Besanceney) Lindie, she was born on May 18, 1926, in Rochester, NY.

Jean grew up in Tioga County, graduating from Blossburg High School in 1944. Upon graduation, she went on to marry Herbert “Herb” Johnson; the two spent 65 years of marriage together before Herb’s passing in 2009. She was a bank teller, working at First Citizen’s National Bank (both the Mansfield and Blossburg locations). She was also employed as a cook in the Blossburg Elementary School cafeteria. Keuka Lake, located in New York, was one of her favorite travel destinations. Above all else, Jean placed family first. Her most cherished moments were those when she was surrounded by her family, especially her grand and great-grandchildren.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Dusty McMillen (and husband, Paul) of Camp Hill; two grandsons, Michael McMillen, of Camp Hill, and Daniel McMillen (and wife, Christine) of Camp Hill; and two great-grandchildren, Liam and Madigan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert E. Johnson; and a brother, Keith Lindie, of Blossburg.

A memorial service will be held at 7:30PM on Thursday, January 17, at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Additionally, a second visitation will be held from 12-1PM on Saturday, January 19, at Freeberg Funeral Home & Cremation, Blossburg. The visitation will be concluded by a brief service at the funeral home, followed by burial in Arbon Cemetery, Blossburg.
