Jean Moyer, 89, of Bethany Village, previously of Lewisberry, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Holy Spirit Hospital.
She was born January 6, 1924 in Williamsport to the late Frederick and Leatha (Blair) Lindauer. She was the widow of Lee Moyer.
After graduating from Williamsport High School, Jeanie went to work at Lycoming Aviation. Due to the fact that she loved art, she was a graphic designer for the airplane engines that were manufactured.
In June 1963, Jeanie opened her own art gallery and art studio in Camp Hill. She loved teaching art from her teenage years. All her students were her pride and joy. She also enjoyed helping people pick out frames for their paintings. She was in business with another artist prior to opening her own studio. Jeanie loved animals of any kind, wild or domesticated and at times would take in strays. Jeanie liked toplant her vegetable garden and liked to dance at the Native American Pow-Wows.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Umphred (Jeff) of York Haven; three grandchildren, Johnny (Cyndi), Tina, and Ryan; and four great-grandchildren, Karisa, Dayne, Kayla, and Darrin.
Private memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Bethany Village Skilled Nursing for their love and devotion shown to her while she was living there.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to SPCA of York County, Brougher Companion Animal Shelter, 3159 Susquehanna Trail North, York, PA 17406
