Jean Ruby (Kunkle) Rowland, 81, of Camp Hill died Sunday, April 24, 2016 at her home, with her husband at her side. She is now free from the years of pain from leg issues and cancer.
She received her Bachelor of Science from Penn State University in 1957 where she joined Delta Zeta Sorority. She was a bookkeeper with the local Boy Scout Council. She and Bob lived in several locations before settling in Camp Hill in 1959. She served as a member of the school board for the West Shore School District. She enjoyed traveling extensively with her husband and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
She was born March 8, 1935 in Aquashicola, PA to the late Hobart and Hilda Mae (Smith) Kunkle.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-nine years, Robert D. Rowland; a daughter, Karen L. Rowland-Steyers of Hummelstown; son, David R. (Sherri) of Harrisburg; several cousins; and three grandchildren, Alyssa, Timothy, and Erica.
Viewing will be from 10am until funeral services at 11am Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church, 1610 Carlisle Rd., Camp Hill. Burial will follow in Rolling Green Cemetery.
