Jeanne (Stokowski) Wojtysiak, 77, of Etters, and formerly of Baltimore, MD, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021 at her residence. Born on Christmas Day, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Irene (Pula) Stokowski.
Jeanne grew up in Maryland, graduating high school from Seton High School (Class of ’61), and then went to Mercy Hospital School of Nursing (Class of ’64), where she became a registered nurse. She met her husband, Joe, during nursing school; they were married two weeks after her graduation. She was employed with Mercy Hospital for her entire working career. Life was about more than work though, and Jeanne loved many things life had to offer: dancing, bowling, and golfing, to name a few. She and Joe would have fun evenings at Sparrows Point Country Club, eating dinner with friends, dancing and socializing. In her quiet time, crocheting and knitting were quite relaxing to Jeanne. She also had a love for traveling; Hawaii, Alaska, Italy and Disney World were a few of the fun destinations throughout the years. Cruises were one of her favorite ways to see the world, venturing to the Caribbean, the Panama Canal, and up along New England and Canada. A devout Catholic, since moving to Central PA almost 30 years ago, she and her husband have attended St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland. Seeing Jeanne with those closest to her gave little doubt that she thoroughly enjoyed being a grandmother, and that she loved being in the company of her family.
Surviving Jeanne is her husband of 56 years, Joseph R. Wojtysiak; her children, Joan Guerrero-Martin (Luis) of Baltimore, MD, and Diane Sterner (Gregory) of New Park, PA; grandchildren, Jenna, Krista, Kayla, Matthew (Elizabeth), Justin (Rachel), Andrew, Corban, Nathan and Eden; great-grandchildren, Kayleigh, Colton, Jaxton, Peyton and Manasseh; sisters, Peggy Gordon and Barbara Florian; brothers and sisters in-law, Bernadette Lipka, Sylvester Wojtysiak (Sharon), Mary Wirth, Paul Wojtysiak, and Rosemary Sampson; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11AM on Friday, March 12, 2021 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland.
